For more pictures please check out our Gallery or Friend Us on Facebook.
The Mowgli’s produced a lively performance that impressed our tough judges. After claiming the top spot in the first round, they came up against two strong acts – Soulswitch and Jenna Bryson – both looking to improve on last week’s shows.
In the end the margin of victory was a mere 3 points, meaning the Mowgli’s just held on. They can now look forward to an exciting future, after securing almost $30,000 in prizes and a huge artist development package.
Bands Benefit From Constructive Feedback
The Mowglis performed in front of some of the biggest names in the business, including Disney’s Stan Freese, Angel Diva Music’s Jan Linder Koda, casting director Rayna Apploff, former A&R executive and now President of Cookie Jar Recordings Brian Malouf and A&R executive Tom Zutaut. Some of their comments:
Stan Freese
“There’s no two ways about it, you guys are fun!”, “You nailed what you were doing”, “I really enjoyed that whole performance”, “I would put you on at Disneyland as long as you don’t have that beer on stage with you!”
Jan Linder Koda
“I love you guys!”, “So you’re ready to hire?”, “When you guys get your CD I’d like to have it so I can get you some placements”, “I definitely want to keep in touch with you!”
Rayna Apploff
‘What’s up new-age Brady Bunch?”, “You are the happiest guy I’ve ever seen on stage!”, “You did a great job.”
Brian Malouf
“I used to say to bands, ‘Come back when there are 500 people standing outside the club on a Wednesday night,’ and you guys are well on your way”, “You have to be able to translate your energy into your recordings”, “I have heard about you before, I don’t know how, but it speaks volumes.”
Tom Zutaut
“Positive energy and love are very infectious things,” “You have a sound that’s uniquely yours but you need that hook,” “You’ve got to find that money shot because you have everything else to have a big career.”

Thank you To our Runners-Up
Due to Purple Melon pulling out a day before the final, SoulSwitch and Jenna Bryson were the other two bands to contest the Mowgli’s for that top spot. Unfortunately neither band could knock them off the top, but we hope both groups picked up some valuable tips throughout the competition and will put them to good use. We would like to thank both artists for taking part, especially the guys from SoulSwitch who commuted twice from Orlando, Florida to participate. We wish both bands all the best and look forward to working with them in the future.
