The Mowglis Outscore Purple Melon, SoulSwitch, Jenna Bryson To Claim Top Spot

“It has the sound and formula of modern radio right now”, “You compliment each other well”, “I loved it!”, “I couldn’t say anything negative about it”, “It was original and loved the conversation there”.

A tie for 3rd place means that we welcome back 4 groups next Thursday. Soulswitch and Jenna Bryson both tallied up the same amount of points meaning they both qualify. Unfortunately we had to lose Marvin Etzioni and his Mandolin as well as the superb August Rising.

The Mowglis and their impressive cult following were delighted to hear the news that they had won Round #1 of LAMN Jam’s Rock Music Contest by a considerable margin. What made the win better were the extremely positive comments from our industry experts whose interest can have real bearing on their career. The judges were impressed and struggled to pick any faults in the band, except possibly the keyboard player’s lack of dancing!

Bands Benefit From Constructive Feedback

The Mowglis now advance to the finale on June 16 to compete for the grand prize, but the aim of the evening was not just to select a winner, it was also to give developing artists constructive feedback to advance their careers and improve their craft, especially commercially.  Talent judges included music publisher Robert Walls, 98.7FM Radio DJ Darren Rose, music producer Sean Beavan, American Recording’s A&R Director Anthony Bland and AEG Live’s Tour Marketing Director Derek Schaefer.  Some of their comments:

About The Mowglis

“That was my favorite so far!”, “Very fun band to watch″, “You guys are cool but not trying to be cool”, “I can see you guys playing Coachella soon”, “I want contact information before you leave here tonight.”

Runners-Up Advance to Finale

Purple Melon, SoulSwitch and Jenna Bryson were runners-up in the competition.  They advance to the finale on June 16 together with The Mowglis to compete for the grand prize, a career launch package worth almost $30,000 that includes a professional music video, personal consultation in performance, songwriting, a radio promotion campaign, marketing and business plan development; a professional photo session, resources and gear, and more.
