The first Manhattan LAMN Jam took place on Tuesday March 18 at The New Roadhouse in downtown New York City.
The room was packed, and the audience was enthused. In the first row industry experts Fiona Bloom (Founder of The Bloom Effect), Joe Mondry (Creative Manager, Cherry Lane Music Publishing) and David Wilkes (VP of A&R, KOCH Entertainment) sat with pens poised, ready to evaluate artist performances.

Taking the stage first was Enda Keegan with two melancholy and melodic songs (“Here In The Blue” and “New York City Morning”). Next up was Abby Preissler who brought a large fan base and played acoustic guitar.

Tino Tomas from Baton Rouge, Louisiana followed with smooth moves and a soulful voice that impressed judges. They agreed that it was clear he’s very comfortable on stage and has been performing for some time now, even though he is only 15 years old.
After Derek Theron’s set, Fiona Bloom asked him, “What does ‘heya heya heyo’ mean”? These lyrics he said described as a great feeling.
Last up was Meredith Blis on the piano with cello accompaniment.

Guest experts voted Meredith the winner, so she took home a generous prize for the evening valued at $585 including memberships to LAMN, TAXI, Tunecore, Onlinegigs and a DVD of the hit movie “What is Indie?”. She qualifies to for our final show in October.
Our next Manhattan LAMN Jam is Tuesday, April 15. Click here to register now to be part of it while space is still available.
