The ROAMies: The ROAMies are a refreshing listening experience and an adventure for your soul. They are a new L.A. based duo/band with a playful marriage of Alexa James’ hooky melodies, upbeat lyrics and unique vocals with Rory Partin’s soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics to create a one of a kind sound. Their music is deeply rooted by their passion for travel and adventure which has taken them to over 30 countries throughout the world. Alexa grew up in New Mexico and Texas, and Rory hails from “Cajun country” Louisiana which has combined their individual sounds into something extraordinary. They both spent a number of years living in Music City, Nashville, TN, which has put another twist into their style. Now based in Los Angeles, Alexa came into the L.A. music scene with her WOW factor turned up high. Shortly after arriving she was named the 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards Hot Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year. “ I love writing songs about the struggles and frustrations that I face, as well as the celebrations in my life. My hope is that people will connect with something that I share, and to be able to feel that they are not alone in their lives and experiences.” James’ expresses about her passion for making music. She has recorded 6 professional studio albums as a solo artist, written a number 1 song and 5 other top 10 singles along with placements in films. Rory Partin was born and raised in “Cajun country” southwest Louisiana which has influenced his style. Having four siblings there wasn’t a dull moment in his childhood but somehow his mother always found the time for family dinners and music in their home daily. He was exposed to wide variety of music from Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, and Bing Crosby to The Doobie Brothers, Three Dog Night, Stevie Wonder and other great artist of the time along with the local jazz and Cajun bands, Rory has a bit of all these sounds put into one. He found that what really moved him was Soul, and you experience that Soul in his music. “When I sing and play, I gotta feel it. I want others to feel it too. At the core I am an emotional, heart-felt artist, singing from a place deep inside me that screams to be heard. I try to allow this come through in all I do as an artist.” After years of touring together, fans were asking when they would combine their sound into one. Fans love their energy and on-stage chemistry plus they enjoy touring together so they decided to honor that request and, The ROAMies, were founded. They are currently in the studio working on their first album together and are looking forward to what this chapter will bring….
