About the Artists:

The Mowgli’s

“The Mowgli’s are quite simply a group of friends who love nothing more than to listen to music with one another, make music with one another, and grow musically from one another. Combining all of their personal styles, The Mowgli’s have created a sound all their own. Blending country, blues, and folk with classic Rock n Roll, they add poetic lyrics that they hope people all over the world can feel. Best known and appreciated for their energetic stage presence, The Mowgli’s put on a show that the audience feels happy to be a part of. At the beginning and end of it all, The Mowgli’s are a California band with California soul. They’re staying young, living life to the fullest and have always been in love with love…”

Purple Melon

Influenced by quintessential Brit Rock including The Kinks and The Faces, this young band’s era-crossing melodies have pushed them to the forefront of up and coming bands. Purple Melon first made a name for themselves at the London’s legendary Troubadour Club, and recently relocated to an old villa in Hollywood where they are recording their full length record and documenting on film their entire journey. A Los Angeles favorite, Purple Melon has cut their teeth playing to growing crowds throughout LA, consistently selling out the infamous Vi er Room at their previous headlining residency. Within the last 6 months in Los Angeles, the band has been featured on AOL Sessions, MTV’s “The Hills,” Simon Fuller’s “If I Can Dream” show, and LA’s “KTLA Morning Show” while they are gearing up to release their debut full length record. In their highly anticipated record, they deliver a masterful record of catchy and smart English Rock ‘n’ Roll which was recorded analog live to 2-inch tape over an 8 month span outside and produced by Paul Stacey (Black Crowes, Oasis). The band has also started to garner strong support on US taste maker radio stations such as KTCL, WXPN, KNRK, etc

Jenna Bryson

If you’re expecting some tale about a gifted child prodigy, or a girl born into poverty whose only escape was music, or anything like that which you would usually find in a story like this one about a musician or an entertainer, you won’t find it here. I haven’t been singing since I could talk (not that I’m aware of), I never studied music theory, and I still have a day job: playing princess at kids’ birthday parties. What?! For real. I am not that which dreams are made of; I am not the picture of success…yet. As I like to say, if you can’t climb over the walls that hold you back, you break them down. You decide to make your own opportunities and quit relying on fate, luck, or fairy Godmothers to give you those chances. Eventually, if you keep working hard and you keep getting better, then you record a sweet debut album with an awesome producer (“make/believe” out this July), win some music contests online (OurStage.com), and get your first song placement in a TV show (CW’s “Hellcats”). Voila! So, here I am… in all my glory or lack thereof, wrapped in melodies, and lyrics, and heart (glass slipper not included).

August Rising

As music becomes increasingly segmented due to higher demand for inventive design, true enjoyment can often play second fiddle to innovation. A sound or style that is familiar to the music world may be overlooked due to this very fact. As a result, uniqueness frequently takes precedent over wide appeal. However, the 4-piece band known as August Rising are consistent with their refreshing hooks. Their music is honest and simple yet emotionally fed. Not to be misunderstood, it’s their way of creative expression that doesn’t have to rely on obscurities to become noticed. The band is well aware of their appeal and embraces it thoroughly, as opposed to fearing the almighty pigeonhole. August Rising’s self-titled debut encompasses the youthful energy of Lifehouse crashing into the airy structure of Goo Goo Dolls, topped off with a dash of funk-driven Maroon 5 guitar licks. Front-man Jeff Stauning croons about adoration and its many ups and downs. He communicates his straight-forward message with brawny force, providing an ideal contrast to the illuminating subject matter. Lead-guitarist Jarod “JemTone” Woznik, a former student of Kenny Lee Lewis (Steve Miller Band), provides the driving melody of the band. Seasoned bassist Patrick Stephens and drummer Jesse LeFevers construct the band’s sturdy rhythm section. Los Angeles radio powerhouse, STAR 98.7, interviewed Jeff on-air earlier last year after spinning “Lay Your Hands on Me” during the morning show with DJ Valentine. Valentine enthusiastically stated, “I’ve been in the music business now for 15 years, and I can tell you, this song is a hit”. Since this encounter, August Rising has been dedicated to exposing their enjoyable sound to a broader audience. In response to the barriers that often separate the artist from the fan, “We like to remain very reachable and really try to create a great relationship with them…we also try to create a deeper meaning to keep people involved and interested beyond just a catchy chorus.” The humble, straightforward attitude of August Rising only adds to their musical charm: something to soon be embraced by the world.

SoulSwitch

SoulSwitch sound is based on melodic heavy rock with great radio friendly hooks. SoulSwitch offers a uniquely explosive, unmistakable sound and feel to each and every song. SoulSwitch is a 5 piece modern rock/melodic metal band out of Orlando, Florida. “SoulSwitch has an unmistakable and uniquely explosive sound,” declared Connections Magazine in their glowing review of the band’s six song EP. Impressive words that only begin to describe the sound of the Orlando based powerhouse. In the short time since the band’s inception they’ve amazed a remarkable list of accomplishments, including being chosen by the listeners to earn a coveted slot on the WJRR Earth Day Birthday 15 second stage alongside Another Black Day, Rev Theory, and Saving Abel and have won a second and third time to play Earthday Birthday 17 and 18. SoulSwitch has played various festival type concerts with national acts such as Korn, ,Papa Roach, Kid Rock, Five Finger Death Punch, Hail the Villain, A Day To Remember, Sevendust, Filter, and Nonpoint to name a few. Onstage, SoulSwitch displays a riveting, thunderous performance of their crowd pleasing original material. The current and final lineup of SoulSwitch has been in place since late 2006. Writing and performing incomparable songs is a team effort, with each member contributing through their strengths. Together they form a sound uniquely their own, yet filled with mainstream hooks ready for active rock radio.

Marvin “The Mandolin Man” Etzioni

Marvin Etzioni was a founding member of Lone Justice. The band was signed to Geffen, toured with U2 and Tom Petty. Marvin wrote a third of the self-titled debut, produced by Jimmy Iovine, which the L.A. Times called “Album of the Year.” His forthcoming album “Marvin Country”, features duets with Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Richard Thompson, Buddy Miller, Maria Mckee, John Doe (X), Dixie Hummingbirds and others.
